Description
TER GF4C Rotary Limit Switch is used to control and measure the movement of industrial machines or the position of the nacelle or pitch angle of wind turbines.
FEATURES of the GF4C Rotary Limit Switch:
- It consists of a gear motor that transfers movement to the cams and the other movement detection devices through a primary input reduction stage (worm gear and helical toothed gear) and one or more secondary output stages.
- Accurate adjustment of cams by means of screws.
- Positive opening NC contacts for safety functions.
- Mechanical life of switches: up to 1 million operations.
- IP protection degree: GF4C is classified IP65.
- Extreme temperature resistance: -25°C to +70°C.
- It features transmission and gear driving shafts made of stainless steel, self-lubricating technopolymer gears and driving bushes and sintered bronze bushes moulded into the base of the limit switch to prevent rubbing against plastic material.
- All materials and components used are wear resistant and guarantee protection of the unit against water and dust.
OPTIONS
- Revolution ratios from 1:1 to 1:969, achieved by combining different secondary output stages.
- Each of the two outputs can be set to a different revolution ratio to enable diversified control of the machine when special requirements need to be met.
- Snap actions switches with 1NO+1NC contacts or slow action switches with 1NC contact.
- It can be equipped with 2 cam sets (with up to 7 switches), potentiometers and encoders (alone or on top of cam sets with up to 2 switches)
TER has acquired decades of experience in designing and manufacturing rotary limit switches, providing now four series of rotary limit switches, used to control the movement of industrial machinery when in need of measuring the movement on the basis of the rotation angle and/or of the number of shaft revolutions.
The rotary limit switches are used in particular in industrial and construction lifting plants to control gantry cranes, track cranes, jib cranes, wall-mounted jib cranes, tower cranes and winches for construction sites; in the automation industry to command and control systems to manage machines and processes, thus reducing the need for human intervention; in stage technology to control the equipment used to move stage sets, curtains etc.; on wind turbines for managing and controlling the pitch angle of the blades (pitch control) and the position of the nacelle (yaw control).
TER range of rotary limit switches includes four series of limit switches, with revolution ratios ranging from 1:1 to 1:8100 and up to 15 microswitches with potentiometers and encoders.
The rotary limit switch is made up by a gearmotor which transfers the movement to the cams and to the other movement detection devices placed inside it through a primary input reduction step (worm gear and helical toothed gear) and one or more secondary output steps (pairs of straight toothed gears).
TER’s aim is to simplify the control of the machines equipped with its devices, designing reliable, ergonomic and intuitive safety products, capable of predicting the demands of the market and becoming the industry benchmark.
At the basis of this company mission is the will to establish a connection between market and company, by giving an increasingly central role to the sales department, seen as a continuous relationship between TER and its customers.
